340 Promotions Announces Boxing Seminar and Weigh In

Today, 340 Promotions announced the second in a series of training seminars for aspiring boxing officials as well as the official weigh on for Boxing in Paradise II will be held on March 26th at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort and Casino. Here's more from the press release:

St. Thomas USVI – In an effort to improve the state of professional boxing in the US Virgin Islands 340 Promotions has announced the second in a series of training seminars for aspiring boxing officials. Individuals interested in becoming a professional boxing judge or referees are encouraged to attend. The seminar will be hosted at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort and Spa from 9am to 12pm on Thursday, March 26th. All interested individuals may contact 340 Promotions at 340-998-1166. 

The seminar will be followed by the official weigh in for the Friday March 27th Boxing in Paradise II card to be hosted at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center. The weigh in will take place at 2pm at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort and Spa.

The media is invited to attend this event. 

The card boasts a variety of international boxers with local attractions John and Julius Jackson along with their cousin Samuel Rogers, all native Virgin Islanders. Junior Middleweight John Jackson and middleweight Julius Jackson, the sons of former 3-time world champion Julian "The Hawk" Jackson and Junior Middleweight Rogers is his nephew. 

340 Promotions is working in conjunction with Seminole Warriors Boxing and Arano Boxing to produce this event. Coors Light is the title Sponsor of Boxing in Paradise II and a host of other sponsors for this production include the USVI Department of Tourism, Yacht Haven Grande, Fat Turtle, Plaza Extra, Ackley Media Group, VI Lottery, Southland Gaming and Core Magazine. 

In their professional debut, the Jackson brothers and Rogers all posted wins to their professional records. The card will also include in the main event a WBA Fedelatin Welterweight Championship match, featuring Argentinean Hector Saldivia vs. Daudy Bahari of Indonesia. John Jackson (1-0 1KO) will be facing William Ganes (3-8) of Seychells, NC, Julius Jackson (1-0) will square off against Steven Grove of York, SC who will be fighting in his pro-debut. Samuel Rogers (1-0) will be will be challenging Mike Thomas (pro-debutS) of Atlanta, GA. 

In addition to the Jackson brothers’ and Rogers’s bout, Evan Nedd (2-0) of Aruba will be facing Reggie Pena (2-0 1KO) of Crystal River, Fl. In a 4 round Cruiserweight bout. Fernando Quintero (6-0-1) of Oxnard, CA will be facing Alberto Amaro (4-2 1KO) from Catano, PR, in a 4 round Jr. Middleweight Attraction. 

Tickets for the event are $25 in advance and $35 at the door for General Admissions, and $40 in advance and $50 at the door for Ringside Tickets. VIP tables are also available for $1,500.
